Lessons centre on specific topics targeting relevant vocabulary and skills necessary to perform in specific environments.
Development of ideas.
Paraphrasing.
Argument bulding.
Students get immersed in a reality where roles require task completion.
Tasks involve working with real life ideas and issues using and performing social skills and roles.
The structure of a lesson will involve :
-Reading a small text in order to answer/debate a number of aspects to the topic presented in it.
- a vocabulary exercise , how the target words are used and several synonyms ( their differences from given synonyms)
- Discussing the issues : Where they come from, what happens next, what are the obvious and then the less obvious causes, who stands to gain from it and so on.
- Underline grammar structures and phrases that are typically used in the subjects presented in the texts. Give alternative ones and examples in a two different contexts.
- Student' s reaction to ideas expressed in writing by laying emphasis on justifying their position with a little example from real life where the above new items can be used.
-Conclusion: Recap the target/new items by listening to a discussion and identifying the items and quickly eliciting why and how they are used.
